What is diffusion? When a sound bounces off of a diffusion panel, all of the frequencies contained in that sound are evenly diffused throughout the room. This is the opposite effect of an absorption panel which absorbs some of the frequencies and reflects some of the frequencies. An absorption panel is rarely linear and causes a negative change in the sound. This requires more output from the speakers and amplifiers to compensate. We have found that large diffusors solve bass problems as well as improve stereo imaging.
